We count page views in a way that sets no cookies and identifies nobody. That part needs no permission and happens whatever you choose.
Google Analytics does set cookies, so it loads only if you accept. Refusing is as easy as accepting, nothing on this site needs those cookies to work, and you can change your mind from the cookie settings link in the footer.
What that means in practice
Page view counting, always on. Vercel Web Analytics, run by the company that hosts this site. It records which pages are visited, roughly where in the world from, and which site sent you. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and builds no profile of you, so it can’t follow you to any other site.
Google Analytics, only with your consent. This one does set cookies, which is why we ask. It tells us the same sort of thing in more detail: which pages get read, which get left, and which routes through the site people actually take. We ask Google to drop the last part of your IP address before storing it. If you refuse, no Google script loads and no Google cookie is written.
Fonts. Bundled with the site rather than loaded from a third-party font service, so there’s no external font connection to disclose.

If that changes
